Accelerating FemTech
Health Innovation North West Coast is part of a collaboration behind the Accelerating FemTech support programme which has announced its latest cohort of 21 innovators. Funded by Innovate UK and the Medical Research Council, the programme has chosen companies that drive innovation across a range of women’s health needs. Read more here.
CVD resources online
Our colleagues at Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex have developed a set of free resources, known as CVD Central, which are available for anyone to download.
The resources support the detection and management of atrial fibrillation, blood pressure, cholesterol and heart failure. Find out more here.
Data roundtable
The Health Innovation Network (HIN) recently hosted a parliamentary roundtable on the future of data and innovation in the NHS. Chaired by Lord James Bethell, the event featured a keynote speech from Minister in the Department of Health and Social Care, Baroness Gillian Merron, who recognised the Network's ‘brilliant work’ and its role in helping others to work together to take the NHS ‘out of analogue into the digital’. Polypharmacy support
The Health Innovation Network launched a range of materials last year to support people who are preparing for a structured medication review with their GP, pharmacist or other healthcare professional. The materials encourage shared decision-making, are free for healthcare professionals to use with patients, and are available in a range of formats and languages from the HIN website.
Our national polypharmacy programme has celebrated signing up the 1,000th delegate to its polypharmacy action learning set. Dr Lesley Bull, a south London GP, described the benefits of the set in this blog.
Report: NHS-industry partnerships
The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) has published a report which analyses NHS-industry partnerships and shows evidence that partnership working can improve population health and enhance healthcare experiences.
